Local expert for Tunisia _SecTransNAS Project- P72

Trained as an engineer (specialty in “Transport”), Mr. Sassi HAMMAMI has spent his professional career since 1980 at the Ministry of Transport in Tunisia, where he has held management positions within the Ministry and as a CEO of two public transport companies. He has participated in several studies and reforms in the transport sector, traffic and road safety and the transport of dangerous goods.

From 2012 to 2019, he was Secretary General of the Ministry and ensured, in this context, the monitoring and coordination of the activities of the Ministry and public companies in the sector and chaired the steering committees of several studies in the fields of transport, logistics and urban mobility.

At the international level, Mr. Sassi HAMMAMI was the national coordinator of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation and of the Transport Policy Program in Africa. In addition, he participated, at the UNECE, in meetings of committees and working groups, in particular “the committee and sub-committee of experts on the transport of dangerous goods”, the “Committee for Inland Transport-ITC”, “the World Road Safety Forum-WP1” and “the Transport of Dangerous Goods Working Party WP15”.

As a consultant, since 2020, he has participated in studies and short-term missions with the World Bank, the African Development Bank and within the framework of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation. He is also a trainer in the field of transport of dangerous goods (ADR).

Local expert for NIger - SecTransNAS Project - P72

ISSA Habou is an officer in the Nigerien armed forces. He holds a master’s degree in applied econometrics from the University of Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah in Fez (Morocco) and is preparing a doctoral thesis in Disaster Economics at the University of Abdou Moumouni in Niamey (Niger).

With 9 years of experience in the field of humanitarian, telecommunications and civil protection, he is working with SecTransNAS since 2019 as local expert. Since 2020, he holds the position of Director of the National School for Civil Protection) which is responsible for training civil protection managers and actors involved in humanitarian and disaster management.
